Herts Nomads were fired up for the challenge of playing Plymouth who were top of their division, having won all their matches so far this season.

The Nomads attacked the first set with lots of energy. An onslaught of attacks and some tough serving, left the Plymouth defence floundering and the Nomads took charge, establishing a healthy lead.

Plymouth fought back hard. But Herts stayed strong and took the set 25 - 19.

Plymouth attacked the 2 nd set with determination, Herts matched them with equal gusto and it was point for point! Plymouth managed to pull away to 16 - 13 which deflated the Nomads a bit as they were trying so hard. Herts lost focus and struggled against one server, which allowed Plymouth a run of points. The Herts team sorted themselves out and regained some momentum, but it was too late to save the set and Plymouth won 25 - 18.

The battle raged again in the 3 rd set, a change in the Herts rotation took the Plymouth defence by surprise and the Nomads established a good lead. However, Plymouth would not give in and kept up the fight to level the score at 24 all. The Herts team kept their composure and pushed again finishing the next 2 points to take the set 26 - 24.

The Nomads were looking pretty tired as they started the 4 th set and took a few points to settle into their game. Some tough serving brought the Herts team back into the set, establishing a 4 point lead at 11 - 7. Plymouth fought hard, but the Nomads were determined to maintain their momentum and held their lead to take the set 25 -20.
