The Nomads faced a very different match for their 2nd fixture of the day, Ashcombe were fielding a very experienced team of players.
However, the Herts team were firing on all cylinders in the first set and dominated the game with their strong attacking quickly taking the set 25 - 12.
Ashcombe found their feet in the second set and fought hard to defend and put together some attacks. The Nomads stayed strong and defended well to take the set fairly comfortably 25 - 18.
The battle continued in the 3 rd set and it was point for point for the first half. Then the Nomads lost focus losing a run of points to one particular server, which left the Herts team playing catch up. Ashcombe held on to their lead and took the set 25 -21.
The 4 th set saw the Nomads shake off the fatigue which had crept into the previous set and come out all guns blazing again. Ashcombe were given little chance to play as the Herts team powered their way to a 25 -13 win.
Another good result for our small but determined Herts squad!
