The Nomads were keen to face Brentwood again, this time with a full team! Much pride was at stake as Brentwood took advantage of the Nomads absent setter in the last match and gave the Herts team their first loss of the season!
Both teams were up for the fight, but the Herts team were determined to stay in control. The Nomads stuck to their game plan and a disciplined defence and attack stopped Brentwood from making best use of their main attackers.
The Herts team benefited from having a match coach for the day and would like to thank Donald for giving up his time.
The Herts team took all three sets 25 - 14 . 25 - 17 , 25 - 23 .
Apart from a sticky patch in the 3 rd set the Nomads held the lead all through the game, this was no mean feat as Brentwood were a force to be reckoned with. Possibly Brentwood were slightly shell shocked by the strength of the Herts team as at their last meeting the Nomads really didn't get started.
This excellent win has secured the Nomads place in the play - off due to take place in Birmingham 22 nd April. The Nomads will play the runners up in the other two division 3 regions and if successful will go on to play the team in 9 th position in division 2. Ironically the situation the team found themselves on the other end of last season, when they were defeated by South Hants who took the Herts teams division 2 place!
However, before any of that, the team face Tonbridge at Francis Bacon School, St Albans, on the 15 th April, any support or help with line judging would be very welcome.
