Reading posed tougher opposition for the Nomads and the Reading team were feeling confident
having beaten Team Southampton comfortably 3 - 0.
However, Herts Nomads were completely focused on the task at hand and applied relentless pressure
of fast attacks and tough serving. This left the Reading team looking rather dazed at the end of
the first set, which the Nomads took comfortably 25 - 11.
The 2nd set saw the Reading team try everything they had to stop the onslaught from the Nomads.
However, the Herts team were as committed in defence as they were in attack, making it hard for
the Reading team to score points. Only a tough server on the Reading team could make any impression
on the Nomads, but it wasn't enough to stop the Herts team taking the set comfortably 25 - 19.
A bit of mental fatigue crept into the Nomads game in the 3rd set as the Reading team went flat
out trying to make an impact. The Herts team were in control for most of the set, but concentration
levels dipped a bit as the winning post drew nearer. However, with a strong squad of players available
the Nomads were able to put their new team members to good use to help secure the set 25 - 22.
