Herts were ready for this match having had a bit of a wait as the first match
overran by nearly an hour. As usual the Herts team took a while to settle into
their game allowing Solent to get a bit of a lead. However, once the Nomads
settled down they performed well.
It was a bit late to make up the lead Solent
had established and they were able to hang on to take the set. However,
despite losing 17 -25 the Herts team had finished strongly and were looking
good for the second set.
The Nomads attacked the second set and Solent were left somewhat stunned
as all their confidence was extinguished by the ferocity of the Herts attack.
Solent made substitutions and did their best to try and stop the onslaught but
the Herts team were taking no prisoners and took the set 25 - 9.
The Nomads built on their success in the 3rd set Solent tried to come back
but were always playing catch up as the Herts team dominated the set. The
Herts team made a bit of a meal of finishing the set off, allowing Solent quite
a few extra points. However, the Nomads finally finished the set 25 -21.
Solent battled hard in the 4th and put the Herts team ion the back foot a few
times, however the Nomads were determined in their defence and battled
strongly to finally take the set 28 - 26.
