Herts Nomads took on Sussex Dolphins last Sunday. With the league places very tight the Nomads were very aware that every set was crucial. The Dolphins were keen to improve their league position and were also determined to win.
The Nomads started well with strong serving and intelligent attacking and seemed to be in control. However, a lapse in concentration from the Herts team allowed the Dolphins back into the set. The Nomads refocused and managed to stay strong, to finish the set 25-20.
With the first set under their belt the Nomads settled into their game and stayed firmly in control in the second set. Tough serving from the Herts team put pressure in the Dolphins and made it difficult for them to get an attack together. The Nomads took the set 25-12.
The third set saw more of the same with the Herts team staying strong and giving nothing away, and again taking the set 25-12.
