It's the HVA Cup Final this Sunday in Welyn Garden City. Everybody is very welcome to join us for BBQ and drinks as we see Wildcats and Red Eagles W, then Watford and MK City Men go head to head to determine who wins the County Knock-Outs this year. We'll be awarding the league shields, plus medals for winners and runners up and also the league MVP awards for the season. Check out the programme to see if you have some silverware heading your way.
Some words from the committee.
HVA Competitions Secretary, Duncan Worrell
Phew, we made it! After COVID cut short the 19/20 season and “won” the 20/21 season, it’s great to see so many of you back enjoying your volleyball this season. Well done everybody who played, coached, managed, organised, refereed, scored, and supported.
We managed 64 matches since November, including a single X League match. We have just three more matches today to bring the season to a very satisfactory close.
Thanks to everybody who put up with my nagging for club, team, player, and match details over the season. Double-thanks to those I didn’t need to nag.
See you again in September if I don’t see you first on the beach courts in St Albans.
HVA Secretary, Katy Hamilton
As the 2021/22 season draws to a close, we look forward to the HVA Cup Finals and congratulate those who are competing for the trophies. A massive well done to all the league winners and to all teams who have competed for titles this year.
It has been great to see the return of the HVA post pandemic during which, I’m sure, all of us missed playing and the competitive comradery of the varying leagues. I’ve very much enjoyed seeing returning players and impressed with the number of new players and hope this continues in future seasons.
I would like to thank all those involved in the HVA Committee and those who run our local clubs, whom without, the league and cup competitions would not be possible.
A final massive thankyou to Welwyn & Hatfield Volleyball Club for hosting this year’s finals. We hope you all have a great day.
Final word from the HVA Committee
The HVA AGM will be held in June with a date and location to be confirmed. Please do come along for a bevvy and help make Hertfordshire a better place for everybody to enjoy their competitive volleyball. We will be looking to replace some of the HVA Committee posts with people stepping down from their roles. Any support would be much appreciated as without these volunteers the league cannot run.
