AGM/Fixtures Meeting

This was sent by email, but thought I'd share it here too...

We hope you had a great summer and are looking forward to getting back to training and a resumption of competitive indoor volleyball.

The HVA haven’t held an AGM since June 2019, due to covid and a lack of a fully functioning committee. Only Marzena (Treasurer and representing WHVC) and myself (Fixtures Sec/Webmaster and representing KLVC) now remain.

We’ll combine both the AGM and Fixtures meeting this year, at the Rose and Crown in Kings Langley (WD4 9HT) at 7.30pm, Tuesday 27th September. Fixtures will be resolved on-line like last year, so we will be able to cover everything we need before kicking out time.

New Faces

We very obviously need some other clubs to step up and assist on the HVA committee. Luckily the two outstanding roles are the easy ones! The Chair manages all meetings. The Secretary organises the meetings and minutes those meetings. Without these positions filled, too much work falls on too few people. With Red Eagles having the next largest club and Watford winning M1 and Men’s KO Cup, we really are looking at you but anybody who wants to help support Herts volleyball is welcome.

You should send at least one person to the combined AGM and Fixtures meeting.

We expect to welcome back Aylesbury Vale Volleyball Club in some form this year. Bedfordshire have also registered an M1 team to join us. AST Volleyball have also approached us, based in Barnet.

Proposed HVA Rule Changes

I just have the one this year, which is to adopt the Mikasa V200W or V300W as match balls for all HVA league and cup matches (excluding X-League).

If you have any proposals, please let me have them in advance so I can add to the agenda for the meeting.
